We had an absolutely fun and relaxing fourth of July weekend. We spent most of our time up at the Lake with some friends and the sun. While Thursday the 3rd was HOT the evening cooled down nicely and were able to top the night off with an outdoor movie. I had brought a projector up there and Cody provided the movie for us all to enjoy. I will admit for as much work as I put into setting up the movie I was a little disappointed when I looked around and found that I was the ONLY one actually watching the movie! Most of the kids were at the fire pit making and eating s'mores. Mike and the "guys" were on the deck chit chatting, Lorna was doing mom duty and picking up here and there, and then there was, alone watching Kung Fu Panda. Oh well...

Friday was much much cooler. In fact I was a little disappointed at how much cooler it was, but at least we were not melting. Laura and Kellie came out with Chopper early in the afternoon. Laura and I planned on an open water swim workout, and in fact I think that we did a nice little aerobic open water swim. It was perfect, no wetsuits required. We finished the day sitting on the dock gabbing and fending off the kids multiple requests to take them out on the jet ski's (that's what Dad's are for). They settled for swimming, sun bathing and fishing. Good memories to have.

Todd went to Montana and picked up a Fireworks spread that would put Riverfront Park to shame. For those that may not know Todd, well he is a big kid. Fourth of July is his big holiday. It would be the equivalent of a kid coming down on Christmas morning and seeing all the gifts. He was giddy. It was incredible. Todd even picked up a special firework display just for me (and he even had me light it). It was called the Ironman! It was spectacular (kind of like my finish--not) the other folks on the lake were all hootin' and hollering when it was done. Thanks Todd.

Here's hoping that everyone enjoyed the long weekend!
