Yup...it's fall

Two weekends ago we had the idea to head up to Greenbluff to participate in some fall festivities. While up at Greenbluff we thought that we would pick out our pumpkins, get some apples and enjoy some fresh air and rack up some precious "family time".

While I am not one to balk at family time, I will say this, on a normal day Greenbluff is a beautiful way to spend time with family. The kids can participate in some out of the norm activities, we as parents can spend time with our kids, and to top things off get some really delicious fresh fruits and vegetables. Win, Win, Win.

It was a crazy day. So many people, so many kids, parents yelling at their kids, kids crying because they wanted another this or that (and actually none of the crying came from either of our daughters). The fresh fruits and vegetables were no match to Mike's Zips (hamburgers). So when it came time to actually go and pick out our pumpkins, we headed toward the pumpkin "patch". As we were walking we took a look at the line. Picture something you might see at Disneyland. Mike looked at me...I looked at Mike...the kids looked at both of us...and then we turned and walked to our car.
Ahhhh....precious family time, Rydeen style.

This looks like it was a lot of fun, even tho there were a million people, and I didn't get the box of apples that I ordered!

We had a similar experience this year... I think we'll try going to some smaller farms next year. We felt a little guilty buying pumpkins at Fred Meyer, but seriously... that line was ridiculous.
